Ain't Nobody Got Time For That + CAT TAX

You Say I'm Supposed to Write HOW MANY Newsletters a month?

In the down time where I don't necessarily feel like writing or working on YouTube videos, etc., I've been consuming business videos on YouTube, and you know what so many different internet gurus tell people to do? Send daily or weekly emails.

I don't know about you all, but #1... this girl has NOTHING to say for a newsletter on a daily or weekly basis. 😂

#2, if an author I followed sent me a daily email, I would likely unsubscribe faster than you could say, "No, thanks!"

#3... Ain't Nobody Got Time for That! Look, I work a full-time job. Power to those people who have time to write a daily marketing email, but I just don't. And honestly, I value the hair on my head. I don't need to rip it out.

If you've been around these parts for a while, you know I sent a newsletter every week leading up to my new release last year, but those were special circumstances. (And I burnt myself out doing it). Needless to say, lesson learned. I won't be doing that without a ton of advanced planning in the future.

Anyway, let's get onto the news part of the newsletter.

Writing Updates

Last month, I simultaneously had my most productive writing month in over a year and my worst sales month since August. That is, I wrote 12,323 words and edited 28 pages. I also earned about $13 between Patreon and my book sales. It broke my streak of hitting $20 in sales every month, and definitely gave me a wake up call about going back to the drawing board.

I really, really want to become a full-time author in the future, because working for corporate America is going to be the stress-related death of me one day. My constantly burnt out high-functioning autistic self can only handle so much before I lose it. I have a hard goal of finding a way to be self-employed by 2029, and I am hustling to make it happen.

My BookTube is Blowing Up?

I started my YouTube channel an age ago in the hopes that one day I would be able to monetize it and earn a little bit for a self-employed future. I know that the days of earning a living off of YouTube adsense are gone, but I figured that that plus other streams of income would help me get to where I want to be in the future. It's been over a year, but I'm at the point where I'm actually starting to see some break out videos.

I recently posted a video comparing The Devil Wears Prada book to the movie, and it has 106 views, which seems low compared to a lot of larger channels out there. But those views mean the world to me. It encourages me to keep going and to believe that the steps I'm taking will help me get to where I want to be.

Book Vs Movie

Which do you think is better?

Deals of the Damned Book 4 - Lucifer's Law Chapter 1

1

My maker, by their own design, placed me in a position I loathe. Despite what the likes of mere mortals posit, I enjoy my reign in the underworld, but the time has come for me to manipulate those I hold dear, something I would never do of my own accord. Though they call me Devil, I hold myself to higher standards than most. I tell myself it’s for the greater good. I must ensure the future comes to pass, but must it be this way? If I refuse to play their game, would they not make it so, regardless of the role I choose for myself?

I understand why my past played out as it did. It was an elegantly orchestrated dance, one I fell into step with unknowingly, and I know it will happen again. The Creator is a master who puppets us without even the use of strings. They know our soul deep motivations and set us in motion with the minutest of nudges.

I wish it weren’t like this. There must be a better way than causing so much pain.

Ellyria didn’t know how long it had been since the end of her punishment, but she did know that Hell was boring. Why had she believed Zane when he described the different chilling yet oddly beautiful landscapes? Her soul bound husband spent hours away from her every day, sometimes only sending a duplicate to check on her instead of his original. She felt… lonely.

She would be the first to admit that she wasn’t the world’s most social witch in life, but she could leave her house. She wrote Lucifer, had girl time with Lily, and sometimes, even helped Tarso work on cars. And of course, there were the kids. There was nothing she wouldn’t give to hug her son right now.

There was nothing to do here, and she didn’t know what was acceptable for a soul like her. Then again, if she was stuck in Zane’s bachelor pad for a minute more, she was going to go crazy...

Cat Tax

Alright, that's all I've got to say for now. I'll chat with you next month because I am not writing one of these weekly... or daily for that matter.

Much love,

Maria

(P.S. For the whole 3 of you who follow me from my fan fiction days, you'll remember that ol' sign off. Well, we're back baby!)

It's Maria Caiazza back up in the hizz-ouse, baby! Okay, maybe that was a bit much, even for me. It's been a weird couple of months since my last newsletter. As I mentioned last time, I am finally out of the funk I was in for the last year or so, and I am doing my best to invest in myself and my future so that I can make writing and content creation a career in the future. Let's get to some updates, shall we? Personal Updates In the past, I've shied away from getting too deeply into personal...
